The Netherlands Carillon School, part of the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, offers a complete conservatoire study. The programme for the Bachelor of Music diploma takes four years and can be followed for another two years for the Master of Music diploma.
Within the curriculum, there is differentiation between the subjects all faculty students have to take and those specific to the main carillon study. General subjects, such as History of Music and Music Theory, are given in Utrecht. All subjects specific to the carillon are given in Amersfoort.
Students who study carillon as a secondary subject, or who have done a conservatoire study elsewhere, can usually take the specific subjects only.
